Goodman’s Fields

We provided advice on all aspects of Rights of Light for the development at Goodman’s Fields

The proposed development is a mixed use scheme on a seven acre site near Aldgate in the City of London.

The development will provide 900 new homes, student housing, a hotel and shops, restaurants, office, a one-acre park and new community space. The first phase of the scheme was completed in 2016, and when fully complete will consist of seven towers up to 24 storeys.

Plane for the scheme were drawn up by archiects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands. Their design consisted of a simple structural grid. This was to allow for future changes of use (residential space of all types, offices, other workspace and shops) within and between buildings.

The grid layout also allowed for a series of new public spaces and streets in the scheme. This approach improve permeability through the development, reconnecting and integrating with the existing street pattern.

The first phase of the development was completed in 2016 and final phase completed in 2020.
